Monster jobs - Can Monster.com help you find your next job?
Monster.com is the US arm and original site of a truly global venture, with dedicated websites in many countries.
There is also the UK version at Monster.co.uk and the Canadian version at Monster.ca.
Job Search on Monster.com
If you are outside the US when you go to Monster.com, you will be presented with a list of all of Monster's job sites - to avoid this page, click on our link further down this page.
Go to the home page of Monster Jobs, and you are invited to get straight down to business by posting your resume on the site. To do so, you first have to register with the site. This is clearly a priority, for you'll be invited to register almost at every turn.
Further down the page is the job search option. You can search directly from Monster Job's home page or follow the advanced search link. Alternatives include the company search and a diversity search, for candidates with minority ethnic backgrounds. With the advanced search, you can enter keywords, company name, US location, job category and age of advert. You can request brief or detailed job information at this stage.
The left-hand menu offers you a targeted job search by industry category. Follow these links and you'll be offered career advice and articles on career progression, as well as the opportunity to select a location and continue with your search.
At this stage, you might feel a slight sense of information overload, with the screen subdivided into many different service areas. This is a shame, as there are undoubtedly many helpful articles buried here, such as 'Network Safely Online'. The job profiles are particularly useful.
Be sure to bookmark interesting features when you find them, as you'll probably never locate them again.
