Net-Temps.com - Is Net Temps a good place to look for a job?
Net Temps claims to be the leading job site for both temporary and temp-to-perm jobs in the US, plus full-time IT and engineering jobs.
They can also help you find management, temporary and part-time roles in the following sectors: accounting, admin, manufacturing, marketing, retail, sales, supply chain and transport - see below for a full list of sectors covered.
How to Search Net Temps for Jobs
As a job seeker when you visit the site you can search 1000s of job postings. You'll need to enter keywords and the location you are interested in before you hit 'Search'. You'll then be asked to 'Post Your Resume' using their form. You can avoid this if you want to by simply clicking on 'No Thanks', which is just above their form.
The search results show a job per line, with the job duration immediately visible next to the job title. You can then click on the jobs you are interested in to read the full job advert.
To apply for a job, you can either use a resume you've already uploaded to Net Temps by logging in or you can click on 'Post your Resume' or there is also an option to email your information directly to the recruiter / employer without you having to give all your details to Net Temps.
Registering Your Resume
If you decide to fill in their sign-up form after you searched for your first job, you'll need to enter your name, email address, zip code and think of a password. You need to select the type of work you are interested in, the sector you are in, your level of experience and citizen status.
You'll be asked about your current job title, salary, preferred work locations and skills, plus you need to upload your resume. You can let recruiters view your resume or restrict access just to yourself.
If you decide to store your resume / CV, you can reach over 5,000 staffing agencies. You can control your privacy level and make your resume active or non-active.
Advanced Search on Net-Temps.com
Visit the advanced search page to additionally search by area (state or metro / city) or US zip code, keywords, type of job (temporary or full-time) and industry sector. You can also select how recently the jobs were posted, which is useful if you come back to the site later and only want to see jobs added in the last 7 days.
Free Job Search Assistant from Net Temps
When you click on their Job Seekers Sign-up link (at the top of each page) they'll allow you to create up to 5 resumes and cover letters. You can share your resume with their 5000 recruiters (or choose to keep it private).
You can use their Job Search Agents to create email alerts based on your own job search preferences whenever a relevant vacancy is posted.
Besides the usual tips on resume and letter writing, Net Temps also offers an excellent range of articles (topics as diverse as layoff and networking), an 'Ask the Expert' section and advice on career decisions.
